Standards are critical for determining which operators/crews are capable of safe and effective operation as part of incident response. The FAA has released knowledge standards in Part 107, but those standards are simply a starting point for emergency management UAS operations. CDRP developed this comprehensive set of knowledge and practical standards as a starting point for remote pilots that wish to fly UAS on or over an incident scene.

These standards include areas on UAS operation, but also on coordination and communication with other resources working on scene and necessary skills such as ground navigation.
